I’ve been visiting the Spike Island Cafe for years, and have experienced three different management teams. Under the Emmeline team it has gone from strength to strength, creating extraordinarily sophisticated and very real food at dead normal cafe prices. I try to eat 40 different plants a week and a single visit to the Spike Island Cafe gets me half way to the target! Fantastic! All power to them!

I’ve been visiting this cafe for a while now, and it never disappoints! They consistently serve the best sarnies in the city—fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The coffee is rich and smooth, perfect for a quick pick-me-up or a relaxing afternoon. What truly sets this place apart is the staff. Even when it’s busy, they’re always friendly and welcoming, serving with a smile. You can tell they put their heart into the food, and every item on the menu is fantastic. The space is bright, spacious, and always spotlessly clean, with music that creates a calming, uplifting atmosphere. This is hands down the best cafe in Bristol. It’s also a great place to come when you’re feeling low—the warm vibe and kindness of the staff always lifts your spirits. Highly recommend!

The staff are friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. The shakshuka was outstanding – perfectly spiced, rich, and served with fresh, crusty bread. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food and warm service!”

This is by far one of my favourite cafes in Bristol. If you want healthy, delicious food right by the Bristol Harbourside and chocolate path Emmeline is for you. The cafe has big beautiful windows which make it a really bright and nice space, as big tables and plenty of plugs to work. You can get lunch, breakfast and more here. Everything from croissants to homemade granola, salads, toasties, smoothies and more. As well as classics like jacket potatoes if you are after something simple. The staff here are great and do great work to support the community, running charity events for caring in Bristol and more. Emmeline is within Spike Island - a free gallery which is always worth popping in. I got the smoked salmon bagel which was great, pina colada smoothie and cocoa and coconut oil hot chocolate. I feel 10x better after eating it. I feel nourished! Thanks so much Emmeline.

A lovely cafe with great selection of breakfast and lunch items! The ice tea was superb!!!! It was so lovely that they warmed up the vegan sausage rolls as well :) Would love to try other drinks in the future as well :) The staff were lovely as well. The cafe was a little warm so having some fans on the hot weather could be better.

Beautiful quaint cafe that I had been meaning to try for a while. Ordered a Ruben Beef toastie to have on the train to London. HUGE portion size with the right amount of brie & salad. It comes with pickles but reading the comments here i thought pickles might be too sour so got them removed. Regret it now, it definitely wouldve tasted better with pickles. Still pretty decent for the price (7)

Amazing food menu, everything looked so good. Had a smoothie in the end, super nice and thicc, and since I bought something, they let me eat my own lunch. Ask first tho!
